Advanced BionicsThe thinking minds at Advanced Bionics keep coming up with ideas to put an end to the permanence of hearing loss, and bring the affected mankind as close to hearing as possible.
For all those who always wondered what it is like to hear inside water, we bring to you, *drumrolls* ‘the AquaCase’.

Srijani(9) has recently upgraded her processor to Advanced Bionics’ Naida CI-Q90, which comes with various accessories. One of her favourites being the Aqua Case, which upon being fastened to her arm, allows her to enjoy swimming and spending time at the beach in her city.

Earlier, she envied her friends who got to swim at the school, while she had to sit waiting outside the pool, looking at her classmates having fun. She would often ask her mother why she could not be like her friends, and she never had an answer. In her mother’s words, “it was heart-breaking, to say the least.”
She had developed an inferiority complex. She is such a happy child now, since she has started using her new processor, Naida CI-Q90. The days of cribbing are thankfully gone. It has brought along a sea of changes in her life.
She has only been swimming for about two weeks now, but she has almost perfected the free style. My mermaid is a quick learner, you see.
There’s no feeling as good as watching my daughter happy.

She is a person who cannot sit still. She always has to be up to something. Earlier, she was only learning Bharatnatyam.

It has hardly been two weeks, since she has started swimming, and she already has the next goal on her list ready. She wants to learn singing, as she thinks it’d polish her speech even more. I ask her to take up one thing at a time, but she wants everything at once. So these days,YouTube has become her music guru.

She keeps me updated on all the trending songs on ‘Billboard’. I feel so proud of myself when I say I know the lyrics to Closer, Shape of You and Lean On. So yeah, Srijani brings out the ‘cool’ in me.
